Eagle Rare

Eagle Rare by Buffalo Trace Distillery lands on my taste buds like the rare single barrel bliss it can be. A balanced flight of sweet, corn and oak that lands in the mouth smooth with a swoop of fumes that spread over the tongue. The Eagle Rare glides through the body like carried by a breeze through a warm Spring day over an oak forests.

8 Seconds

Eight seconds is more than enough time to realize 8 Seconds is a Canadian Rye with slight oak and the sweet of the vanilla bean and the sweet corn with rye giving some flavor. 8 Seconds is like an American Rye with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It’s good. It drinks better than some of the mists and hosts of Canadian Rye, but still not as tasty as an American Rye. The flavor does remain until the third drink. And it is worth the third drink and the fourth drink. It may very will be healthier to have four drinks of 8 Seconds than having four scoops of vanilla Ice cream and four drinks of American Rye like Rittenhouse.

Fighting Cock

Fighting Cock puts up a good battle, but feels weak when fighting American Ryes, and tastes sour when fighting with other bourbons. The sour mash sweetness tames the weak rye swipe that doesn’t cut an impression nor take a strong cock out of the fight. The above average alcohol proof proves alcohol proof doesn’t always make for a strong drink to fight after drinking many. Fighting Cock proves bourbon is a tame whiskey, so the Fighting Cock talks a good game with the fact it contains rye, but the rye doesn’t add to the bite, the peck or the taste. Fighting Cock is best after few whiskies then your senses are numb to the fact the Fight Cock is either too young and inexperienced or too weak to fight.

Rogue Dead Guy Whiskey

Rogue Dead Guy Whiskey tastes like a bourbon and a rye made from left over beer. It’s oak with an ale finish stolen from the ale that lived to become ale.

Laphroaig 15

Laphroaig 15 is nearly pure smoke. The peat leaves an ash taste seeping through your pores for days after drinking the drinks. The smoke flows and spreads and seeps through the body. And if you are close to someone, they could believe you on fire.

It’s a taste that lasts and lasts and lasts for cycles beyond the last sip.

Laphroaig 15 is not for the weak or the nascent. It is a single malt the malts in you mouth then through you body.

Hirsch Selection Special Reserve American Whiskey 20 Year Old

Hirsch Selection Special Reserve American Whiskey will make even an ex-pat wave the red, white and blue to save the secure the flavor found in this sweet treat that’s like apple pie fumes.

The light brown body hints at the smooth mix of the United States melting pot giving a faint smell of smoke before the freedom of the sugar coating tongue after taste.

This straight corn whiskey will keep anyone shooting straight for another taste and another salute to the tradition of American whiskey
